“Don’t focus on having a great blog. Focus on producing a blog that’s great for your readers.” – Brian Clark from Copyblogger.com So I’ve decided to start this week by not checking my blog traffic stats, earnings, or any other stat related to my blog for one week. Reason for doing this? It started to take up all my time and get me anxious. I was wasting my time every day looking at my stats for hours at a time instead of producing content or working on my blog. The reason for looking at my stats soo much more? Well that was because I was testing out new things and wanting to see if there was in traction or results. However I decided there needed to be a fine balance between looking at my stats too much and not looking at them at all. I have to look at them once in awhile so I know if anything is working but then at the same time I can’t be 100% worried about my stats 24/7. It won’t fix my blog, make it better, or anything positive. I’ve taken the links off my Google Chrome new tab window so I am not tempted to see the quick links. I made a reminder for myself in my calendar to check my stats in a week so I know I can forget about it now. I will focus on researching new techniques for my blog instead of just writing the same non-sense on my blog from week to week. Trying a new technique every week to find something that sticks and is fascinating to my readers. I will continue to fail at blogging until I create a success. I will not stop until I’ve made that success. Failure is not an option with my blog. If it takes 10 days, 10 weeks, 10 months, 10 years it will happen. My blog or one of my online endeavors will be a great success. I will be able to tell myself I took the long road to get here but now my blog is awesome and I made it all by myself without the help of anyone! How Can You Benefit From This? You can do the same case study. If you are concerned about your stats too much then forget about them for a week or a couple days or a month. Just focus on improving as a blogger. Hone your [...]
